Succession planting
Plant a crop again (or follow it with a different one) every few weeks or right after harvest, all the way to frost.
Open a seed packet (Add Seed Packet or tap a crop) and turn on Plant again after this. Then choose:
- Next crop. Leave it on Same crop for a steady supply of lettuce, radishes or beans. Pick another of your seeds, or a crop from the library, to rotate: beans after peas, fall kale after garlic.
- When. Every X weeks sows a new round on a schedule. After harvest sows the next round as soon as the one before is done, in the same spot.
- How many rounds. A set number, or until frost: Heirloom stops when a round would not mature before your first fall frost, using its days to maturity.
Crops from the seed library fill in a suggested interval for you (for example, every 2 weeks for lettuce).
Where the rounds show up
- Timeline. Each round is a lighter bar linked to the first, tagged like 2/4. A different crop shows its own name (or variety). For cut-and-come-again crops, each round's picking hands over to the next one; only the last runs to frost. Rounds print, too.
- Seed Cards. The card lists every round with its sow and harvest dates.
- Reminders. Each round gets its own “Sow again” reminder, in the list and by email.
- Bed planner. Plant the crop in a plot and its panel lists the rounds in that spot. A means a round starts before the one before it is harvested. Give it another spot, or switch to After harvest.
Free and Season Pass
Succession planting is part of the Annual, Perennial and the 7-day trial. On Free you can try the setting and see a preview; switching it on shows what the Season Pass adds.
