Planting: indoors vs. direct sowing
Mark a crop planted and tell Heirloom how you started it.
Many crops can be started indoors (and transplanted later) or direct sown in the garden. The timeline shows both options until you plant.
When you plant, edit the seed and tick ✓ Mark as Planted. Enter the actual date planted and choose Started Indoors or Direct Sown.

Heirloom then replaces the planning windows with your real schedule: growing time and harvest are counted from the date you planted, and transplant-timed crops (like tomatoes) count maturity from transplant.
If you don't choose, Heirloom guesses from the date: before your last frost usually means indoors.
